Visitor information

Mikrocentrum and VOM announce the collaboration with Vereniging ION. As a result of this collaboration, three trade fairs join forces as the knowledge and network event for the BeNeLux: Materials+Eurofinish+Surface 2020, which takes place on 3 and 4 June in NH Conference Center Koningshof in Veldhoven (NL). While Materials focuses strongly on the role of materials in the success of a product, Eurofinish and Surface connects surface technology. In short: where Materials ends, Eurofinish and Surface start. This synergy means that as a visitor, you will find all aspects to realize a good and sustainable product.

With 200 exhibitors and 60 speakers, Materials+Eurofinish+Surface 2020 offers a complete overview of the latest developments within the entire chain; from raw material to realized product. This includes materials science, analysis techniques, adhesive techniques, product development and surface technology. Materials+Eurofinish+Surface 2020 is therefore the central meeting place where Dutch and Belgian specialists meet.

Discover a wide range of (new) raw materials

We are used to our resources consist of materials. But, behind that obviousness there is a world full of technology and challenges! If you need even better, stronger, cheaper or better looking materials for a certain application, then new developments are constantly leading to this. Think of 3D printing, nanotechnology and high-quality metals. This may involve new materials for existing markets, but also entirely new developments that require years of research before they have been converted into a practically applicable product.

The latest developments in raw materials

Product development, innovation and improvement also include the choice of new, different or improved raw material. This choice is in most cases quite a challenge: which materials are available and which type of material is the most suitable for your product? What can you do with developments in high-quality metals or how do you apply the circular economy? The answer to these questions and a wide range of both existing and new (raw) material types can be found on Materials+Eurofinish+Surface 2020.

Experience the latest techniques for material analysis

These techniques are as well simple tests as specific material analyses methods to determine whether contaminants are affecting the quality. Complex measurements to determine whether material parameters meet the mechanical, thermal or electrical requirements imposed on the product are also represented. Due to the ongoing automation, computer simulations of materials play a supporting role in experimental measurements.

Live demonstrations of innovative material analysis techniques

During Materials+Eurofinish+Surface 2020, you will see with the most innovative material analysis techniques. For example, live materials are analyzed, tested and simulated at the demo areas. Here you will discover which methodologies fits best with your own materials and you have the opportunity to experience and try out these techniques on the spot.

About material analysis

Make the right combination of material and surface treatment

Anti-corrosive coatings on metal surfaces, wear-resistant coatings on top of a drill and on home, garden and kitchen tools, both nicely decorative and functionally protective; these are just a few examples. CDoatings are in constant contact with the outside world. The surface techniques for applying these layers to an object or for modifying the surface of an object itself, such as surface hardening, are closely related to the materials used.

Discover which surface technology fits your product

When we talk about surface technology of materials, a number of challenges arise. Think of adjusting the appearance, changing the dimensions, changing properties and costs. The exhibitors and speakers of Materials+Eurofinish+Surface 2020 help you with these challenges within the following themes:

  • Creating added value: innovative coatings with a focus on sustainability
  • Material technology: attention to functional and smart use of materials
  • Valorization and sustainability: balance between technology and environment
  • Precision and engineering: simultaneous evolution and development
  • Future-oriented: know-how and skills under one roof

Jointing technology is key when combining materials

A product will not ‘work’ unless the materials, or the individual parts, are properly adjusted to each other. A crucial role in this is played by the interface between these materials – the joining. Think of the smart choices you need to make to create a connection that is strong and without tension between multiple materials which each expand in a different way.

Discover the possibilities of various jointing technologies

The jointing of materials and products can be done in various ways, for example by means of gluing, welding, soldering, bolts, riveting and so on. But which connection technology fits your issue? The choice of right jointing technology depends on the specific process or on environmental factors such as high temperature or pressure, chemical gases or liquids and / or special materials. Materials+Eurofinish+Surface 2020 presents you the possibilities of various jointing technologies.
